This latest bit of Madden NFL 13 news is about to make a lot of you very happy. EA Sports has announced that tomorrow, 17 December 2012, a server-side update will go live for both PS3 and Xbox 360 that will finally address the issue that many have experienced in Connected Careers mode where their team somehow appears to ridiculously over the salary cap (in error of course) occurring at some point after the first season.
If you experienced this, then no doubt you were very pissed to find that all your hard work and time had seemingly been for naught. It still amazes me that EA would go this long letting an issue like this linger, without even acknowledging it to be honest. I mean seriously, this is turns out to be something they can fix with a server-side update which they can do practically anytime and doesn’t require the tedious approval process from Microsoft and Sony. While many will appreciate the fix, many have long since given up on this year’s installment and perhaps the franchise as a whole.
There is a caveat to this though, since it’s a server-side update, it only helps you if you have an “Online” Connected Careers. The fix will apply to Online CCMs that are already in progress in addition to preventing the problem from occurring within new careers. It seems like in Madden 13, the best move is to start an Online CCM and just play it solo, that’s your best bet for getting all the fixes that come out, if you play offline then some of the fixes are hit or miss. Many issues that have been long since fixed in Online CCM have yet to be fixed in the offline version.
As to whether or not the fix will be included in a future patch, the company hasn’t given any indication. So there you have it folks, come this time tomorrow some of you will be able to finally get back to business in Madden 13 while offline folks will still be waiting. Hit up the comments and let us know what you think.
