PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale is arguably the biggest Sony exclusive title out this holiday season, and it has gathered a lot of interest both in the media and with the gamers who have taken it to their hearts both on and off-line. One thing that many people have asked for however is additional content for the title, with more characters and stages being requested and suggested. Good news then for those fans, as the first update for the game will bring both of these new elements into the game.
Firstly what we already knew; the first DLC will be out in January and free for the first couple of weeks. There will be two new playable characters added into the mix, Emmett Graves from Starhawk and Kat who starred in Gravity Rush for the Vita. Now the new information which was announced today – a new stage will also be included in the DLC, being a mash-up between sadly now defunct franchises Heavenly Sword and Wipeout. A strange idea for a stage no doubt, but then so was God of War and Patapon.
Whether or not this means either franchise is not dead is open to argument, but at the very least the DLC should provide a burst of new life into PlayStation All-Stars: Battle Royale when it comes out next year. Make sure you pick it up during the free window and let us know how you are getting on with the game in the meantime. This one is on my Christmas list so I won’t be able to join in the discussion just yet however!
