The gaming community has fallen hard on Call of Duty: Black Ops II lately, since release the game has had its problems, from more than one angle. We can now add another quite serious issue to that list, with the much-hated Prestige Lobbies rearing their ugly head once again in the series.
Hackers have found a way to exploit the game, allowing them to prestige within minutes, eventually hitting the maximum level, something that will get you permanently banned in a heartbeat if caught.
This obviously hasn’t stopped individuals from doing it anyway, as a video – which you can view below – shows YouTuber MinnesotaBurns going undercover and eventually finding hackers doing the exploit, which he kindly recorded and posted on his page, good on him!
Developer Treyarch picked up on this rather quickly and took to Twitter saying that they’re aware of the exploit and will be handing out bans soon and also working on a solution to make sure it never happens again.
Noticed a few “level 10” guys ruining the party for everyone…enjoy your new rank while it lasts. Solution (and demotions) incoming.
After the exploit exploded on Modern Warfare 2, there wasn’t much developer Infinity Ward could do after a certain point, so it’s re-assuring that Treyarch are on top of things quickly.
