Apple To Start Selling Unlocked iPhone 5’s In The U.S. As Early As Tonight

There has been no official confirmation from Apple, but a recent report by 9to5Mac seems to indicate that the company could begin selling unlocked iPhone 5’s via its online store as early as tonight in the U.S. As we said, Apple has yet to confirm this but we all remember a while back when they let images that showed pricing for the unlocked iPhone 5 leak. The report from 9to5Mac goes on to say that once the unlocked iPhone 5’s go on sale online, they should be available at Apple retail stores shortly thereafter.

If you are wondering about pricing for the devices, you will be looking at $649, $749 and $849 respectively for the 16GB, 32GB and 64GB versions. If 9to5Mac’s sources prove to be accurate, the phone should be available for order in a little under 2 hours (12 PM EST/9 PM PT) from now, though that would be at the earliest. The report indicates that shipments of the unlocked devices are already making their way to retail location in preparation for them going on sale, but there is still no firm date for when that will be.

Finally, their sources also indicated that customers will start being able to reserve devices ahead of time anytime, rather than just after 10 PM, as is the current practice. Even the lowest price for an unlocked iPhone 5 may prove to be too extravagant for many but if you are determined to pick one up, hit up the comment section and let us know why.
