Not everyday we bring you a story so crazy even Charlie Manson himself would be compelled to applaud. A student, whose addiction to popular PC footy game Football Manager, has amazingly landed himself a job as a real-life football manager. That’s right you read that correctly, no smoke and mirrors here at Zoknows.
Vugar Huseynzade, a 21-year old student from Sweden will be managing top Azerbaijan side FC Baku, with only his time playing Football Manager preparing him for the job. Take into account he has played the game since 2002, I would guess he picked up a few tactics along the way. Some work experience with a sports agency in the USA helped his cause also, with the student even beating French football legend Jean-Pierre Papin to the post.
“I’ve always wanted to work in football and have played Football Manager since 2002,” Huseynzade told Scandinavian newspaper Aftonbladet.
A meteoric rise in such a short period of time and people said video games are bad for you! I think Vugar Huseynzade would beg to differ.
