Nuketown 2025 Removed From Black Ops II Multiplayer Playlist, Back For “Special Events”

So this is probably going to piss a lot of you off but you might have noticed that Nuketown 2025 no longer shows up in your Black Ops II multiplayer list. Don’t panic, your game is not broken and you are not experiencing a bug. Treyarch has confirmed that Nuketown 2025 has been pulled from the multiplayer map rotation and will only return for “special events.” David Vonderhaar, the game’s design director dropped the news via Twitter:

“Double XP weekend is official [sic] over. That means Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 is as well. I know. RIGHT? Don’t kill the messenger,” he said. “Nuketown 2025 / 24-7 will be back for special events. You can always play it with your friends in Custom Games.”

So there you have it folks, if you want Nuketown 2025, the only way to get it now will be in a custom game with your friends. I’m not exactly sure how players are going to take this, people love Nuketown. I think a lot of people will also take issue with the fact that Treyarch wasn’t clear up front that Nuketown 2025 would not be a persistent map, that may have shaved a few hundred or so off the pre-order numbers. So no more up close and personal, outrageously fast paced action for us folks.

I know everyone has their feeling about this one, so hit up our comment section or our Facebook page and let Treyarch know how you really feel about this latest move.
