The wait for Hitman: Absolution to hit shelves is nearly over and fans will all but be ready to jump into the adventure Agent 47 will undertake. If the single-player option begins to become stale, then the online option in Contracts Mode will keep gamers occupied for even longer. Publisher Square Enix has released some killer news for Hitman fans, by announcing that the Contracts Mode will be free for all users come release.

Up close and personal!

The mode would have been obtainable through a code found within the game’s case, but the publisher has decided to give everyone a chance to experience the mode. The statement read:

We’re so excited that Hitman: Absolution is launching next week! In particular, we’re looking forward to all of the amazing ways players can challenge each other in the innovative CONTRACTS mode – where you get to call the shots.

We’d actually planned to have this mode accessible via a code in the game’s box, but we really want to make it available to anybody that plays the game – so we want to take a new approach.
If you’re in North America you’ll see the mode automatically appear in the game menu. If you’re elsewhere, you can redeem the code inside the box, or you can simply select the BUY CONTRACTS PASS option.

From there, head to the store where CONTRACTS will be free to use.
The only thing you need to worry about then is just how challenging your CONTRACT will be. See you online!

This will be good news for anyone who decides to pick up the game second-hand, meaning there will be no need to take money out of your pocket to buy an online pass.

Hitman: Absolution will be available in Europe and other PAL regions on November 20th, will you be picking up a copy? Let us know in the comment section below!

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
