So here’s a doozy to get your weekend going. If a leaked image of a European Grand Theft Auto V poster is to be believed, we now know that Grand Theft Auto V will be released in Spring 2013. The info comes courtesy of fan forum GTA-Five and while it’s not unexpected, this is the first somewhat concrete confirmation on any semblance of a release window for the highly anticipated open world game.
At this point, we aren’t sure whether the Spring 2013 window is a global release date or whether its more region specific. This is important to note because GTA V had simultaneous releases in Australia, Europe and North America but the game didn’t hit Japan until some 6 months later. Another fact that is worth mentioning is that the poster only features the logos for Xbox 360 and PS3, so for now it doesn’t look like the game will be making the jump to Wii U. If this poster does prove to be legit and we think it will, there is no way to tell how long ago it was printed so the Wii U logo missing could just be a sign of its age. At this point though, Wii U fans will have to wait and hope that 2013’s most anticipated game makes it to their consoles.
It’s also worth pointing out that the only system/publisher logos on the poster are for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3. It appears as though – for now – there are no plans for Wii U. In any case, keep it locked to ZoKnowsGaming for all your GTA V news, we should have some more official news releasing next month.
