If you’ve followed the Assassin’s Creed story from the beginning then you know character Desmond Miles inside and out. Even if he isn’t seen much during the many installments, his story is the base for the Assassin’s we have come to know. Assassin’s Creed III will be no different, with the Desmond Miles story continuing and now developer Ubisoft has released a new trailer telling the story of the 21st century protagonist.

Assassin’s Creed III is only days away!

Creative director for Assassin’s Creed III Alex Hutchinson told Edge recently, “the story of Assassin’s Creed, AC II, Brotherhood and Revelations was to build Desmond up,” Hutchinson said. “He’s this guy who’s a bit of a nobody when it starts out, and gets new abilities through reliving the lives of his ancestors.

“So we’ve built this guy up over the course of the games, and I really believe that we can pay that off, and in retrospect he’ll be terrific. I don’t think anyone really liked Luke Skywalker in [Star Wars] A New Hope, but by the end of his character arc, this journey that he goes through, makes him amazing.”

Assassin’s Creed III will not only offer up new gameplay and characters, it will edge the gamer ever closer to Desmond’s own outing, his turn in the assassin hot seat. However, it’s up to Ubisoft to decide when the time is right, until then you have the awesome trailer to keep you occupied, it can be viewed below.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
