You gotta love David Vonderhaar, Treyarch senior game designer, because he just keeps dropping even more awesome bombshells about the highly anticipated Black Op 2. Tweeting to twitter user PrestigeIsKey, Vonderhaar asked, “Did you know that you can Prestige any gun two times?” That of course sparked a bevy of questions. Later on he was asked “if weapon XP converts to next prestige, will you have to prestige your weapon or will it go back down to 0 or stay at max?” Vonderhaar replied with the answer that we all wanted to hear saying ”Stays where we it was. Weapon level and weapon prestige level totally independent of your level. Not reset by level prestige.”
The concept of weapons levelling was introduced back in Modern Warfare 3, but Treyarch has taken this a step further this year with the concept of being able to prestige them in Black Ops 2. A big unknown still is what you will get for prestiging your weapons. Black Ops II is really turning a lot of Call Of Duty’s core features on their heads. Take normal Prestige mode for instance which you hit at the game’s 55 level cap. In the past, prestiging would have reset progress but not this year. In Black Ops 2, you will keep your unlocked weapons and items in exchange for Prestige tokens that can be spent on additional Create-A-Class slots and other goodies.Well there you have it folks and it looks like Treyarch is listening to community feedback and making the necessary changes to keep players happy and challenged.
