Some games just seem to fit handhelds more than traditional consoles, and Jet Set Radio may well be one of those titles, although of course up until now we haven’t been able to put that theory to the test. When the game was announced to be hitting the Playstation Vita, Sega fans particularly were dancing in the streets with excitement of playing the classic game on the go. Unfortunately, for those guys and anyone else planning on picking up the game, it has been delayed for an undetermined amount of time.
Jet Set Radio was released for Xbox Live and PSN a month or so back, and although most folk who played it commented that it hadn’t aged well, at least the general graphical style and music has stood the test of time. When played in the shorter bursts that handheld gaming normally entails, it could very well find its natural home. Sega commented on the delay, saying that it needed time for ‘necessary development optimizations’, which seems like code for ‘its not ready yet’ if you ask us.
Of course we will keep you updated with any news on the release date for the game, but with the iOS version also seemingly undated, we may have a longer wait than anticipated to play with Gum and chums on the go.
