While we still get used to the ins and outs of the third Battlefield 3 expansion ‘Armored Kill’, the guys at Electronic Arts and DICE are already readying themselves to unleash the expansion Battlefield 3 Aftermath to the gaming public. To start proceedings, they’ve released the official premiere trailer for Aftermath and we have plenty to look forward too, including a brand new game mode and umm …. a new Scoped Crossbow!

Yes …. That is a crossbow..

Set in the shattered districts, streets and villages of a post-earthquake Iran, Battlefield 3 Aftermath depicts a continuing struggle for supremacy and survival amongst the devastation. With operational capacity severely compromised, players will fight through the dust and rubble in a vertical and horizontal urban combat setting.

Aftermath will roll out this November 27th for PlayStation 3 Premium members, and slowly make it to other platforms throughout December. The expansion will ship with four maps, featuring streets and cities of a post-earthquake Iran, with two confirmed so far as Epicenter(shown in trailer) and Markaz Monolith.

We will also see a new game mode with Aftermath in Scavenger Mode, which really speaks for itself. Soldiers will be thrust into one of the four maps with only a pistol, and will need to search the map for more powerful weapons to survive. If you end up finding the Scoped Crossbow, which is the newest weapon to the growing Battlefield 3 armory, then you’re in luck, as it comes with 4 different types of ammunition and looks really sick!

We also have three new vehicles, ten new assignments, ten new dog tags, and five achievements/trophies to look forward too. We can expect the expansion to rollout at the same price as previous packs at $14.99 on PlayStation 3 and PC, and 1200 Microsoft points on Xbox 360.

Will you be picking up Battlefield 3 Aftermath? Maybe the trailer below can sway you towards it. Make sure to leave your thoughts in the comment section and check out our Facebook page for more of today’s gaming news.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
