We keep saying it, but Holiday 2012 isn’t looking so great for triple A games, with the majority of the really hot titles arriving in March, and the disappointing critical response of Resident Evil 6 coming as a major blow. Never fear though, as there are still plenty of decent games coming our way soon, including the Wii U launch. Halo 4 for the XBOX fans out there, and of course Assassins Creed III for the owners of every console.
More news has been revealed surrounding what could be in store for you once you have completed the game’s main story mode over the holidays, with a DLC season pass becoming available on the PSN store, giving some hints about what we can expect. We understand that the DLC will consist of a series of separately available batches of missions, telling the story of an alternate universe where George Washington has turned to ‘the dark side’ and become King of the newly formed USA and it becomes your job to put an end to his evil machinations.
The separate chapters will of course be able to be purchased separately, or at a currently unknown savings by purchasing the season pass. We also understand through the PSN that a ‘Gold’ edition of the game will be available for $89.99 ($30 more than the game itself) which bundles both the game and the season pass, and that there will be a $119.99 bundle which also includes the PS Vita spin-off, Liberation.
In addition to this all-new single player experience, Assassins Creed III downloadable content will feature new maps and characters for an even more expansive multiplayer experience. Assassins Creed III Season Pass will be available for purchase for 2400 Microsoft Points on Xbox LIVE or $29.99 on the PlayStation Network. It can be pre-ordered at GameStop and Best Buy.
The Assassins Creed III Season Pass releases within six months after the game launch at a 25% savings over the individual pack prices. Also, Season Pass owners will have access to the first downloadable content pack one week before other gamers. All Assassins Creed III Downloadable Content will also be available for the Wii U as well.
