Disney Employee Hints At Western Release For Kingdom Hearts HD

One of the most exciting pieces of news to come out of Tokyo Game Show last week was the much anticipated confirmation of Kingdom Hearts 1.5 HD Remix. Disappointing some fans however, the HD bundle was confirmed only to contain the first Kingdom Hearts game (or the remix version of it at least) and RE: Chain of Memories. It was also only confirmed for Japan at that point.

Just save on that expensive import or flight ticket for one minute though Kingdom Hearts fans, as a comment made recently by Disney Interactive’s CFO gave some hints that the game may make its way westwards. Jay Rusulo told Business Insider: “We start the year right out with Epic Mickey 2, and another big title which hasn’t been announced yet, but coming mid-year.”

This time-frame would seem to correspond with the Japanese release, considering that no additional translation work will be needed as it was already completed for the original games. Let’s just hope this is all confirmed soon, along with a Kingdom Hearts 2.5 collection bundling together Kingdom Hearts II and Birth by Sleep.
