Sega Classics Given Release Date

Of all the companies releasing their past wares onto XBOX Live Arcade and the PlayStation Network, none get my fanboy juices flowing more than Sega. Still being the proud owner of a Dreamcast and playing a lot of Megadrive (OK then, Genesis if you insist) back in the day, I love playing these classics on my modern systems, with the benefit of online play and leaderboards etc, not to mention HD graphics. While I still wait with baited breath for Shenmue HD however, we now have dates for the next two Sega games to get the remake treatment, Sonic Adventure 2 and NiGHTS into Dreams.

NiGHTS and Sonic Adventure 2 will be available on October 2nd through PlayStation Network for $9.99 / £6.49 / €7.99 and available on October 5th for 800 Microsoft Points on Xbox 360 Live Arcade. Sonic Adventure 2 is also getting Battle Mode DLC for an additional $3.00 / 240 Microsoft Points. It includes more maps and characters from the Gamecube version, such as Chao Karate.

There is also an added bonus for those who buy NiGHTS; a free inclusion of the Christmas NiGHTS explansion/reskin that was given away as a bundle with the Saturn or as a demo with some gaming magazines back in the halcyon days of 1996.

So what do you guys think then? Will you be picking these up once you are finished with Jet Set Radio?

I'm a UK based gamer, as well as being more obsessed with video games and Doctor Who that any adult has a right to be. I keep telling myself I will grow up one day, but certainly not if I can help it.
