I guess the folks at EA Sports heard you guys going off very loudly about your dissatisfaction with the loss of Fantasy Drafts because they have announced that Fantasy Drafts are being added to Madden NFL 13 with a server-side update (not a patch) expected to arrive today. The feature will be made available at the start of “Online” Connected Careers modes. This is a massive change of course for EA Sports who had all but said that Fantasy Drafts would be out of the question in Madden 13 because it would break some of the branching storylines that Connected Careers introduced. My how quickly things change.
The key thing to remember here is that this is a server-side update and it will only apply to Online Connected Careers since it isn’t a patch. So for those of you that want to have your Fantasy Drafts back, you are going to have to start an Online Connected Career Mode (CCM). It’s important to note that you can start an Online CCM with just you in it, you don’t have to play with others. The only difference is that in terms of accessing your CCM you will be at the mercy of EA since none of the information is actually saved to your hard drives. So if EA Sports servers go down, well you know. No worried on when and if this feature will come to offline CCM at some point.
Lots of folks got on EA Sports about removing the feature in the first place, but I suppose that it’s nice to know that they are listening to fans and actually doing something about it. So there you have it folks, not only are Fantasy Drafts coming to Madden 13, they are coming TODAY! Well post more details as we get them.
You all have to hit up the comments and let me know what you think about this latest news. For all of you that said that Madden 13 sucked with Fantasy Draft and that you were taking it back, what do you think of the game now? Holla at us!!
