Zombie fans everywhere are watering from the mouth in anticipation of the upcoming title Resident Evil 6. The guys at Capcom will look to dish out another successful serving of zombie survival with a few scares along the way. To make sure your multiplayer experience is as top-notch as the single player, Capcom has announced the release of three multiplayer modes in the form of downloadable content that will be available after the game’s release. The new modes will look to expand on the multiplayer elements available in the retail version and deliver new and exciting ways to enjoy the world of Resident Evil 6.

Please guys … One at a time!

The new modes will be able to support up to six-players and will be played on the maps used in the Mercenaries game mode. The modes coming to Resident Evil 6 are:

  • Survivors Mode: takes the classic solo and team-based versus mode and adds a twist. Get killed and you respawn as an enemy character with the ability to attack the human characters. Take down two human characters to resurrect in human form. Last man or team standing wins.
  • Predator Mode: One player takes on the role of the Ustanak, the fearsome B.O.W. that stalks Jake Muller throughout his campaign, and tries to eliminate the human players.  The humans’ task: stop the deadly B.O.W. in its tracks, or at least survive until the end of the session.
  • Siege Mode: Players will protect a single NPC, while as a member of the enemy team, players will need to eliminate that same NPC. If the NPC is still alive at the end of the time period, the human team wins.

If you want to keep track on all the statistics made while playing the three game modes and other in-game records, you can check them on, a free online service that will launch alongside the game. Resident Evil 6 will also see post-launch content come in the form of maps for the Mercenaries game mode and other items not yet revealed by Capcom, so keep an ear to the ground.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
