Sony Working With Bethesda To Get Dawnguard To PS3 Players

After Skyrim developer Bethesda took to the game’s forum last week announcing that expansion ‘Dawnguard’ may never see the light of day on the PlayStation 3, fans were less than impressed. You can’t really blame them however, with the expansion releasing on Xbox 360 back in June and PC a month later, not getting the same experience would make even the happiest of gamers disgruntled. In an attempt to rescue the DLC for PlayStation gamers, big cats Sony have stepped in to help the developer get Dawnguard off the production line.

Sony my fair lass, cometh to save the day!

Sony VP Adam Boyes told Kotaku recently that they are working with Bethesda on Dawnguard, he said, “We have a big, broad dev support team that works closely with Bethesda – and with all of our partners – to work with them to solve that any sort of issues they have along the way.”

“Of course, I always want everything to work always for everyone. I can’t promise any kind of resolution or timeline but can say that everyone involved is trying their best to get this stuff working,” he continued.

It will come as comforting news for PlayStation 3 gamers that Sony have imposed their will and stepped in to get Dawnguard released, even if it takes another few months. One would wonder what effect this will have on recently announced expansion ‘Hearthfire‘, will it become victim just like Dawnguard? We will have to wait and see what transpires.

If you’re one of the many PlayStation gamers that are expansion-less at the moment, let us know your thoughts in the comment section below and check out our Facebook page for more gaming news.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
