The release of the Wii U looms like distant thunder, with the potential lightning flash of news erupting from the ‘Wii U Preview Event’ to be hosted next week. After Thursday we will have a much better idea of things like launch date, price, and the news of a potential pack-in arrangement with Nintendo Land. In the meantime though the rumor mill never ceases to turn, with some more potential information arising as a result of a YouTube video of all things.
The video, which has now been removed, was posted by a company called Video Product Distributors, who ship games to Amazon.com amongst other businesses. In the video which was allegedly seen by website NintendoLife, three separate SKU’s were shown for the Wii U, along with associated prices.
The list also confirmed a release date for all three bundles of 11/11/2012 and prices of $249.99, $299.99 and $349.99. At this stage it is unknown just what these different price points indicate. Perhaps the more expensive ones offer some sort of hard drive storage or would they bundle an additional Gamepad, or Wii controllers? Hopefully by this time next week we should be able to let you know if this is all nonsense, or if the release date and price information is actually valid. Would you guys be happy paying $350 for a Wii U? If you did what extras would have to come bundled with it? Let us know below.
