There’s something on your face … let me get it.

Since the game’s announcement we have seen trailers release here and there, one showing Joel and Ellie, the game’s two main characters driving through downtown Pittsburgh¬†and another inside the safehouse of the mysterious character called Bill. The recently released extended demo however really gave fans something to look at, showcasing the combat system we know from Uncharted, but on a whole different level.

The extended demo starts out the same as the one seen at E3, with Joel and Ellie rummaging through the remains of Pittsburgh and eventually ending up in a rundown hotel. The action doesn’t kick in until around the six-minute mark, with Joel using his surroundings to better his enemies, such as throwing bottles and other objects. What is really shown off however, is the possibilities on offer, every combat situation can be played out differently, every corner turned could be a good or bad decision.

Like the original E3 demo, gameplay focused on confrontations with fellow humans rather than the virus infected beings who want to bite your face off, so many are curious how interactions with the zombie like creatures will pan out.

There will be plenty of news to come from The Last of Us leading into 2013, it’s just the agony of waiting we have to deal with. Make sure to check out the extended E3 demo and leave a comment in the section below.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
