Remote Play On Vita Expands To God of War And Ico Collections

One of the big selling points for a lot of people regarding the Playstation Vita was its ability to play PS3 games via the Remote Play feature. Regretfully, up until now that ability has been limited mainly to PSone games. Fortunately, it seems that the reality of PS3 gaming on the Vita has come one step closer today, with a patch for the God of War Collection (containing the first two games) now available for download.

The patch will allow owners of both systems and a wi-fi connection to hook up the Vita to their PS3 and indulge in some Kratos action wherever they see fit, within wireless range of course.

In other good news, the Ico and Shadow of the Collossus Collection is also in line for a Remote Play activating patch soon. For those wondering about controller configurations, buttons not located on the Vita hardware including the R2, L2, R3 and L3 buttons can be relocated to the front or rear touch screens so nothing is lost in the transition to the handheld gaming experience.

Whilst technically all of these games were designed for the PS2, they were each given an HD make-over for release on PS3, and allegedly look very nice running on the Vita’s OLED screen. It is hoped that further games are patched in this way, with titles like Uncharted 3 and the Ratchet and Clank collection certainly at the top of our list. With features like cross-buy and cross-play all becoming more prevalent, we have to admit that the Vita is becoming more tempting with every passing day.

What do you guys think and which PS3 titles would you like to play on the Vita?
