The Pro Evolution Soccer series may be a long way behind EA’s FIFA Soccer games when it comes to official team licenses but Konami has just announced that they secured Brazilian club teams for the first team ever in the history of the series. “Bringing in these teams from Brazil, along with the Copa Libertadores license, makes PES 2013 the most authentic soccer experience available in the market,” declared Konami Latin America director Erik Bladinieres.
The complete list of the 20 licensed Brazilian club teams is as follows: Flamengo, Corinthians, São Paulo, Santos, Portuguesa, Internacional, Palmeiras, Fluminense, Ponte Preta, Coritiba, Grêmio, Vasco, Atlético Mieiro, Bahia, Atlético Goianiense, Sport, Figueirense, Náutico, Botafogo, Cruzeiro. The teams will come fully licensed, including updated rosters, actual kits and some new stadiums.
This marks a good week for Konami and the Pro Evolution Soccer franchise with the announcement that they had extended their licensing agreement with UEFA for the Champions League and Europa League competitions.
