The PS Vita hasn’t sold particularly well and was even being outsold by its predecessor, the PSP, at one point, but Sony Worldwide Studios president Shuhei Yoshida believes they have a solution that can boost the sales figures of the PS Vita. In an interview with GamesIndustry.biz, he acknowledged that a lack of content and high pricing were putting people off, but said that new bundles will add value to the Vita and make it more affordable to the consumer.
Yoshida explained: “There are millions of people we’re sure will enjoy playing PS Vita games. Our job now is to decipher what’s preventing these people from making the jump. Our priority right now is definitely to bring more content. For the people who are hoping that the PS Vita becomes more affordable, we are creating new bundles and adding new value to the package. We’re hoping that this Christmas more people will jump over to the Vita.”
It’s good that Sony is trying to address the concerns of their customers and I imagine their sales will improve with some of the bundles – including games such as LittleBigPlanet Vita, Assassin’s Creed: Liberation and Call of Duty: Black Ops – Declassified. Will this make you part with your money for a PS Vita? Please leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.
