After what was a stunning showing of the God of War: Ascension single player mode at this year’s E3 event, it’s now time to focus on the multiplayer aspect of the game. With an online portion that Game Director Todd Papy thinks will be worthy of the God of War title, it makes sense to give everyone a taste of what’s to come this March. Enter the God of War multiplayer beta, coming in the near future, with PlayStation Plus subscribers happily digging in first.
The multiplayer mode this time around will work with “4v4 battling it out competitively, while combining the visceral combat and brutal finishing kills you will experience in the single-player portion of the game.” The multiplayer beta will be available worldwide and will come sometime in the near future, with a confirmed date for the testing coming sooner rather than later.
Before you begin your multiplayer journey however, you must pledge your allegiance to one of the four Gods, Zeus, Hades, Ares and Poseidon. Which ever higher power you decide to back will give you a unique combat play-style and devastating abilities in-game, so choose wisely. Unfortunately, if you haven’t invested in the PlayStation Plus service, you will have to wait until you can gain access, with subscribers of the premium service getting the first crack at the beta, but don’t fret – there will also be other secret ways to get in early. The God of War development team will be looking for as much feedback from the gamer as possible, so play to your heart’s content and be rewarding with a solid multiplayer come release.
God of War: Ascension will release on March 12, 2013 for PlayStation 3. Let us know if you are looking forward to the God of War: Ascension multiplayer mode in the comment section below or head over to the rustle and bustle of our Facebook page.
