Black Ops II Will Feature ‘Fun Party Game’ Modes
Black Ops II is the talk of the moment, but if you can remember your days spent roaming the battlefields of Black Ops, you will no doubt remember the fun Wager Match mode the game offered up. The mode offered quirky game types while gambling the game’s currency ‘CoD Points’, usually leading to extremely funny match-ups. Well, Treyarch Game Design Director David Vonderhaar has told NowGamer, that these ”oddball” game modes will make a return to Black Ops II.
“In Black Ops they were called Wager Matches, and there was the ‘gambling’ component. But those somewhat oddball, out-of-context, just kind of fun game modes are actually going to make a fairly significant return in Black Ops 2, as what we call Party Games,” Vonderhaar revealed. Not much was heard on the game types at Gamescom, but Vonderhaar revealed that they ”just couldn’t possibly get through everything”.
“Party games is how we think about that – we think about them as you and I just goofing off, having some fun in this arguably slightly silly game mode. We love making those game modes, and they’ll be a part of this game too. They just don’t have the mechanic of gambling in them in that way, because there are no CoD points.”
So no CoD points this time around I’m afraid, but the inclusion of those quirky game types will be a plus to the already jam-packed content Black Ops II has to offer. Why not let us know what odd game types you would like to see in Black Ops II in the comment section below, just make sure to keep it clean.
