Sony Announces “Cross-Buy”, Buy It On PS3 And Get It On Vita For Free

So Sony finally got some sense and announced that on “select” titles if you buy the game on PS3, you get the digital version for your PlayStation Vita for the low price of FREE. This is something that Sony should have announced a long time ago, in fact this is something that Nintendo needs to get on as well and it shouldn’t just be with “select” games either. There is no reason that if you own a PS3 and a PlayStation Vita or a Wii U and a 3DS for instance, that you should have to buy the game separately for both platforms. I can understand the benefit only being for the handheld version if you buy the console version, but it should be on any and all games and not just some. I mean seriously, who wants to buy the same game twice?

So far, Sony has revealed that the Cross Buy program will apply to PlayStation All Stars Battle Royale, Sly Cooper and Ratchet and Clank: Q-Force. We know that’s not a lot but Sony promises additional games in the future.

So for those of you that do own a PS3 and a Vita, how does this make you feel? Do you think it’s a good move? Would knowing that Cross Buy is in effect for a title make you more likely to purchase it? Let us know in the comments.
