Since first appearing on the scene a few years ago, Media Molecule has become one of the most consistent and interesting developers on the PlayStation. LittleBigPlanet has become nothing short of a phenomenon and can arguably be said to have given the PlayStation world its new official mascot in Sackboy. Get ready to meet a new friend called Iota however, as Media Molecule bring you a PlayStation Vita exclusive, Tearaway.
Taking a lot of cues from the forthcoming Vita version of LittleBigPlanet, Tearaway will use the various control options of the Vita to their fullest, allowing players to tilt, blow and poke their way through a 3D adventure. The aim of the game is to help Iota deliver an important message (he is a walking, talking envelope – of course!) which is actually meant for you. The whole gaming world becomes an environment for you to control as you influence the paper-based world.
Although this kind of hand-drawn graphical style is becoming a little bit of a cliché in PlayStation games lately, it has to be said that Tearaway does look unique enough to be interesting, and the developer certainly has a good pedigree. By combining exclusive titles like this and Killzone: Mercenary, created by top-notch developers and by including options like cross buy to make multi platform games attractive, the Vita is starting to look more and more impressive every day. What do you guys think?
