Horror Title ‘Until Dawn’ Announced At Gamescom

So Gamescom has finally kicked off, and Sony has started in some real style by showing off several brand new, previously unannounced IP’s. Look forward to more coverage on all of these games as we see them for ourselves in Cologne (the playable ones anyway) and bring you updates into next year. For now though just enjoy the first snippets of information, screenshots and trailers. First up is Until Dawn, a new survival horror game by UK-based SuperMassive Games, developer of the Doctor Who: The Eternity Clock PSN game.

Until Dawn is based around stereotypical US teen horror flicks like the Friday 13th and Nightmare on Elm Street series, and utilizes the PS Move controller to function as a torch as you explore scary environments and discover your friends killed in ever more macabre ways. The games art design has a very Alan Wake style look to it, with a creepy deserted shack in the middle of a forest and some purposely cheesy dialogue. SuperMassive games have also promised some real variety as you take control of 7 different characters and set out to solve the mystery.

Check out the trailer and let us know what you think, Until Dawn is scheduled for release next year. The game is supposedly playable on the show floor at Gamescom so we will bring you some hands-on impressions soon.

I'm a UK based gamer, as well as being more obsessed with video games and Doctor Who that any adult has a right to be. I keep telling myself I will grow up one day, but certainly not if I can help it.
