As I’m sure you guys all know by now, Epic Games and the Polish software house People Can Fly have been getting very cosy lately. They have been working closely for a few years now, and People Can Fly are responsible for Gears of War: Judgement, the prequel game due out next year. Epic already owned a controlling stake in the developer.
Now it seems however the partnership has gone one step further, with Epic wholly owning the now subsidiary studio, following the departure of some senior staff from the Polish outfit. Mark Rein of Epic games unveiled the information during the GDC conference taking place before Gamescom kicked off in Cologne.
“Now we own it all. We had a controlling stake, but the owner still owned a fairly large piece of it.” Talking about those owners, Rein stated: “They left, they’re gonna do their own thing. They have something cool they’re gonna do, and we’ll be very supportive of it.”
