Developer Codemasters has released Gamescom screens for their upcoming Mario Kart-style arcade racer “F1 Race Stars”. Codemasters Racing Studios in Birmingham has taken on the task of creating the game and describe it as a “fast-to-the-fun arcade racing game for all ages featuring the official F1 cars, teams and circuits as they’ve never been seen before.”
“We’re really excited to bring the whole cast of F1 into a fun new world of racing”, said senior producer, Chris Gray. “We’ve really let our Art and Design teams off the leash to bring F1 stars’ personalities alive in a new way and create a game where racing fans of all ages can jump into all-action solo, split-screen and online multiplayer races.”
F1 Race Stars will feature all the racing stars we know from the sport, including Lewis Hamilton, Fernando Alonso and current champion, Sebastian Vettel – all shrunk to fit in their little F1 cars. You will also see all the tracks from the championship re-imagined as “fantasy racing theme parks”. As for game modes, expect championships, time trials, 4-player split-screen racing and online multiplayer for up to 12 players, excited yet?
F1 Race Stars is due out November this year and will land on Xbox 360, PlayStation 3 and PC. Make sure to checkout the screenshots below and stay tuned for more on the game from this year’s Gamescom.
