Silent Hill HD Collection Patch Released For PS3, Xbox 360 Patch Cancelled

Konami has announced that while a PlayStation 3 online title update for Silent Hill HD Collection has been released for download via PlayStation Network, plans for an Xbox 360 title update have been cancelled due to technical issues and resources.

Understanding the issues some users are experiencing, KONAMI issued a title update for Silent Hill HD Collection (PS3), which fixed frame rate issues as well as audio-synching and other reported issues. KONAMI apologizes to any players who are continuing to experience these issues on the XBOX 360 sku.

So this is going to go down as one of the more weird releases I’ve seen in a while. So they drop an update for PS3 but completely cancel that update for 360 and then “apologize” to 360 gamers who continue to suffer from the issues. Wow, just wow. There have got to be more specific reasons than “technical issues and resources” and I wish they would just come out and say what the real problem is because this one makes them look really bad. If you are going to cancel something like this, at least have the guts to give consumers who purchased the game the courtesy of getting a real answer as to why they won’t receive the update. Honestly, it would have been a better move to cancel the update for both platforms, at least that way you wouldn’t have left one group feeling completely screwed.

So we want to hear from you, all you folks on Xbox 360 that picked up the Silent Hill HD Collection, what are your thoughts on this? Oh yeah, let’s try to keep it clean people :)
