Since the release of the Alpha version of Minecraft back in 2009, the cube building game has took the world by storm with its focus on creativity and scavenging. Developer Mojang created the MineCon Expo due to its popularity among many things, which allowed fans a more personal experience with the game. MineCon 2011 hit the rustle and bustle of Las Vegas and was deemed a success. This time however, Mojang have decided to skip the city of sin for the innocence of Disneyland Paris.
The shindig in 2011 included the official launch of Minecraft, keynote speeches, building and costume contests, and many other Minecraft related shenanigans. With the first convention selling all 4,500 tickets, many will be flocking to Paris for the event with all the European and UK fans who missed out last year. The event will begin on November 24th and finish up on November 25th.
Check out the announcement video released by Mojang below. Ticket sales and hotel registration will start in the next few weeks! Make sure to let us know those thoughts on MineCon 2012 in the comment section as always.
