Sony’s PlayStation All-Stars Battle Royale has been attracting a mix of positive and negative attention since it was announced, with the majority of the criticism focusing on its’ similarities to the Super Smash Bros. series. One such critic would be Hideki Kamiya, designer of Devil May Cry and Bayonetta, who has expressed his dislike for the up-and-coming fighting game via a series of posts on Twitter.
A fan asked Kamiya on Twitter if he was looking forward to PlayStation All-Stars, with his reply being “No. I don’t like that game.” He was then asked for an explanation for his comments to which he tweeted: “It’s just a rip-off… I don’t like rip-off.” When one fan of All-Stars tried to defend the title by suggesting it is “listening to fans” and “following a successful series”, Kamiya replied: “And throw[ing] morals away. Great.”
