Call Of Duty Elite Reaches 12 Million Registered Users
During a recent earnings call, publisher Activision let rip the statistics on stat-tracking platform Call of Duty Elite, stating that the service has surpassed 12 million registered users – with 2.3 million of those members paying for a Premium account. The news followed the announcement of the last downloadable content for Modern Warfare 3, which lands for premium Elite users first.
Even though the platform’s launch was anything but smooth sailing, the service eventually served its purpose. Bringing statistics on weapons, kills, maps and heaps of downloadable content, with tips to help you on your way. Modern Warfare 3 gamers have received 20+ new multiplayer maps, new game modes, Spec Ops missions and much more through Elite, bringing to head the all-around variety the service offers.
Activision posted revenue of $1 billion. which was slightly down from the previous year. With Black Ops II just around the corner and set to implement the Call of Duty Elite service in the same way as Modern Warfare 3, we can expect plenty of revenue and content coming throughout next year.
