Activision has announced the news most Android users have died to hear for quite a while now. The popular Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies app based on the console game mode, has finally landed on Android devices, months after the app released on iOS devices. Unfortunately the pint-sized version is only available for Sony’s Xperia Smartphones as of now, due to a deal between Sony and Activision giving the Xperia entourage a 30-day exclusive. If you do own one of those expensive pieces of tech, you can download the app from the Google Play Store.
The app will give you all the love the iOS version received, with zombie maps Kino Der Toten, Ascension, Call of the Dead: Director’s Cut and the 50 round epic that is Dead-Ops Arcade all included from release. Like the iOS version, you have the choice to either go solo against the undead or team up with three other gamers through WiFi and take it to them with force. But if you do eventually decide to go it alone, the in-game CoD Point System will enhance your experience, as well as six tiers of in-app purchasing options making weapon buying and area control a lot easier.
“We’re delighted to bring the blockbuster Call of Duty franchise to Android smartphones and Xperia for the first time. And what better way to make this introduction than with the release of Call of Duty: Black Ops Zombies,” said Tim Harrison, Head of Content Marketing and Strategy at Sony Mobile. “There’s nothing else in this world or the underworld like Call of Duty. We can’t wait to unleash Zombies to our fans.”
