Nintendo Download: July 19, 2012
This week in the world of Nintendo Download, we have two new Virtual Console games, another featured clip on Nintendo Video, another deal, and more.
Perhaps the biggest release this week is Kid Icarus – Of Myths and Monsters for 3DS Virtual Console. Acting as part of the “8-bit Summer” series, the Game Boy sequel to the NES classic is much better than the original, in my opinion. The game is available for purchase at $3.99. Available for $2.99 is the other Game Boy Virtual Console release this week, Tumblepop. From my brief experience, the game is a pretty solid arcade-style game.
Next up, Dinosaur Office: Sick Day will be available starting July 20 at 3 p.m. PT/6 p.m. ET. It’s Dinosaur Office, folks. If you’ve had a 3DS with Nintendo Video for a while, I would wager that you already have an opinion, for better or worse, of the comedy series.
Also featured is the “Game of the Weekend”, Mario Picross. At a discounted rate of $2.99, you can get your hands on the Game Boy Virtual Console title on 3DS. The offer is valid through 9 p.m. PT on Sunday, July 22.
Lastly, on exclusive to 3DS, Masyu by Nikoli and The Phantom Thief Stina and 30 Jewels comes out this week. Releasing to DSiWare as well as 3DS eShop, we have Rabi Laby 2 and Petit Computer.
Not a bad week, folks. I just hope Nintendo doesn’t lose steam once 8-bit Summer ends.
