Since the sadly missed days when Sega ruled the video gaming roost, they have found plenty of success in revamping and reissuing their classic titles in HD for the current consoles. Daytona, House of the Dead and Jet Set Radio amongst others have already made the jump to the current gen and now Sega has confirmed that the next Sega title to see a re-release will be Sonic Adventure 2.

It wasn’t released in March after all, but we should be seeing Sonic Adventure 2 on Xbox Live and PSN by October.

Originally released for the Dreamcast back in 2001 (over 10 years ago if that thought doesn’t scare you too much!) it featured classic levels like City Escape which was recently revamped for the fantastic Sonic Generations. Sega confirmed the existence of the game which had been heavily rumored during their ‘Sonic Boom’ event at Comic Con.

We don’t have any more details of the port at this stage, in terms of whether any additional extras will be added, however it was confirmed that the title will be heading to both PS3 and Xbox 360 in the next few months. Whilst we are looking forward to Sonic Adventure 2 and Jet Set Radio we still hope to see Shemue HD confirmed soon, perhaps as an early Christmas present from Santa Sega?
