Comic Con has swiftly moved from focusing on its original subject matter to encompass both films and games, with the event filling a gap between E3 and Gamescom as far as gaming announcements are confirmed. One of the most interesting titbits of information released over the last few days surrounds future DLC for Mass Effect 3, where it was confirmed that it would probably be single player and focus on Shepard’s character.
“Mass Effect 3 is Shepard’s story,” said producer Mike Gamble, “so the single-player DLC for Mass Effect 3 will probably focus around Shepard.” He was also surprised by some gamers dedication to the multiplayer mode. “We see people who have everything unlocked all the way up to level 20 on everything, plus all the mods, plus all of the gear, everything,” said Gamble. “It takes a lot of time, a lot of time to get that stuff, like hundreds and hundreds of hours of play to usually get up to that level. And some of these people had done it in the first month to two months.”
The fact that both Bioware and EA seem happy that the Mass Effect 3 multiplayer has been successful suggests they will continue to support that mode for a while yet, however it is clear they are focused on more single player DLC which is fine with me – what do you guys think? Is the Mass Effect 3 story finished or do you want to continue your adventures in that universe?
