Battlefield 3 made quite an impact when it released across all platforms last October, picking up many awards while delivering exciting large-scale warfare, so it makes sense to get working on the next installment. According to a banner on EA’s Origin digital distribution service, those who pre-order Medal of Honor: Warfighter will have access to the Battlefield 4 beta, prompting publisher Electronic Arts to take to Twitter to dispute that the game is in fact in development.
The Battlefield franchise outweighs the influence Medal Of Honor has on the gaming market, so having a chance to get up close and personal with a highly anticipated title like Battlefield 4 will only help sell copies. The pre-order promo seen above, which simply read, “Pre-order Medal of Honor: Warfighter today for exclusive Battlefield 4 beta access,” was removed from the Origin website after it surfaced and gamers were met with the Twitter message that broke hopes and dreams. The Tweet read:
Battlefield 4? Maybe one day. Remember, if it’s not on Battlefield.com, it’s not official.
Other Electronic Arts First-person shooter Crysis 3 was also outed in a similar way, not to mention last year’s Medal of Honor Tier 1 Edition, which when bought gave early access to the Battlefield 3 Beta. So maybe it is in development and those involved are trying to quiet speculation, they might say it’s not official, that doesn’t mean it’s not in the works.
