EA Says Mirror’s Edge Sequel Is ‘On The List’

Mirror’s Edge was one of those games that was fun to play and very innovative but had a few vital flaws that let it down. People have long been asking for a sequel to see what DICE/EA could do, although both companies have been fairly quiet with news on that front. Only small comments/hints have been thrown about by EA saying first in 2009 that a “small team” was working on Mirror’s Edge 2 and then DICE announcing that a sequel could be made using the Frostbite 2 engine.

The free running was brilliant but the awkward combat sections let Mirror’s Edge down

However, EA Labels president Frank Gibeau has suggested all that matters about bringing the series back is the “how and when” to do so. Speaking in the latest issue of Game Informer he said: “We have nothing to announce. We love Faith. We love the property. It’s really about how and when do you bring it back? It’s on the list. It’s just about looking at what teams are available, who’s got the right quality approach to it, and who understands it.”

So there we are. It looks like a sequel is going to happen at some point but it might not be anytime soon with the next generation of consoles looking like the best bet. Did you play Mirror’s Edge the first time around? What did you like and what would you want changed? Please leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. Sports games are my favorite but I still wait for the day that a decent rugby league game hits the PS3. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
