As we know, 343 industries are hard at work bringing Halo 4 to eager Halo fans, this being their first crack at the franchise since taking the reins from veterans Bungie. So it was hard to believe the studio would have the time to work on bringing fans a ‘Halo 2 Anniversary Edition’, a follow-up to ‘Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary’. Well those rumors have falling flat on their face according to developer 343 Industries in a recent Q&A posted on the Microsoft Expert Zone and picked up by the The Halo Council Website.
News of a possible HD remake began on the rumors page of the latest issue Official Xbox Magazine, which read, “Following the success of remake Halo Anniversary, 343 Industries has now started development of Halo 2 Anniversary.” But in the Q&A posted on Microsoft ExpertZone, which people can use for training and insider information on Microsoft Windows, Windows Phone, etc. One question was asked about the Halo 2 Anniversary Edition, “will there be any chance we’ll see Halo 2 HD before the end of this console generation”, which 343 reportedly said, “We are not working on that at this time. We are kind of busy.”
It isn’t a no, so maybe in the future we can get all nostalgic in High Definition, until then we might as well enjoy what Halo 4 is going to offer when it releases worldwide on November 6, 2012 for Xbox 360. Would you like to see a Halo 2 Anniversary Edition? Hit us up in the comment section below.
