Max Payne 3 ‘Cheater Pool’ Lobbies Go Live

Cheating in video games is a common thing, we have no choice but to deal with the usual crowd hacking or glitching their way to victory, to the frustration of honest gamers. Rockstar Games apparently doesn’t like cheating either and have created a ‘Cheater Pool’ for Max Payne 3, which quarantines anyone who took the wrong path and hacked or modded while playing in public lobbies.

The ‘Cheater Pool’ lobbies will serve the purpose of giving the everyday gamer a break from high blood pressure and enjoy the game they paid from their pocket for. While all the bold gamers are put on the dedicated servers where they can continue with their hacked saves, modded games, or any other methods of cheating, with Rockstar saying they will “wallow with other unscrupulous reprobates.”

Sometimes mistakes can be made, so if you haven’t actually cheated in any way, you can contact Rockstar support who will evaluate and get you back into non-cheater lobbies, you can also let Rockstar know of any cheaters you come across, so swing the banhammer when you have the chance. If you are unsure about how the whole ‘Cheater Pool’ idea works, head over to the Rockstar Cheater Pool FAQ, good chance any question you have can be answered there.

It’s an unusual method to deal with cheaters online, but Rockstar seem to know what they’re doing, just make sure you’re not the next one to serve time in the Cheater Pool. What say you gaming populous? Do you think this is a good way to deal with cheaters? Let us know in the comment section below!

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
