For a while now, Sega have been making HD versions of their classic games available for digital download through PSN and Xbox Live. Although the holy grail of Shenmue (owned by Microsoft so would be XBL only) continues to evade us, we have recently seen classics like Daytona USA and House of the Dead 3 and 4 remade for the next-gen consoles. Whilst we already knew that Jet Set Radio was on the way, Sega has now announced that Nights Into Dreams will join it later this year.
Apparently based on the PS2 port of the game, it is set to appear on the PC as well as the 360 and PS3 (no word on Vita yet). The classic surreal game will receive an HD polish, trophies/achievements as well as 16:9 aspect ratio and online leaderboards. There will also be the option to play the game in its original Saturn format for those who want to keep their retro gaming firmly in the past.
Are you guys excited for this one? I remember playing a fair bit of Nights on the Saturn when it first came out with the new-fangled analogue pad, so I will be looking forward to seeing how it turns out.
