Valve Confirms That A Steam Summer Sale Is Coming

Valve Software is planning one of their now legendary summer sales that will see a number of games on their digital distribution service, Steam, having a very generous discount. All was confirmed by Mike Blaszczak, a software engineer for the company, via the shortest of posts on the Steam forum. This reveal by Valve was prompted by what can only be described as a barrage of requests on the Steam forum about whether there would be a summer sale, as had been the case in previous summers.

Soon my friends, soon…

The summer sale on Steam is well-known amongst gamers, as you can get massive discounts on a large selection of games and it seems that nothing is too high-profile to be exempt. The discounts can go as far up as 75%, and previous years have seen both BioShock games available for just under £10 ($15.51), and the Half-Life 1 Anthology available for £6.02 ($9.34). So when the sale begins, be sure to hit Steam and find yourself a bargain.

So what is the best deal you’ve ever received from a Steam Summer Sale? What games do you hope are included and at what discount? Please leave your thoughts and opinions in the comments section below.

I'm a big gaming fan who has been playing games since ever since Pokemon Yellow was released in the year 2000. Sports games are my favorite but I still wait for the day that a decent rugby league game hits the PS3. I need another Uncharted game...NOW!!!!!
