Rambo: The Video Game Coming Your Way Later This Year

Only one man can take on armies of men and come out the other side, using any rough terrain as his playground and delivering justice in a swift and deadly manner. With actions that speak louder than words, Rambo will always be remembered for the breath-taking action seen in the movies, so it made sense to hit the creative playground and make a game for this generation about the iconic figure. Well to show there is progress being made, Reef Entertainment has announced the name of the upcoming title as “Rambo: The Video Game”, a very unique name I might add.

Since Reef Entertainment announced the game last summer, after acquiring the rights to the action film series from StudioCanal, not much has happened, with Reef Entertainment commercial director Craig Lewis recently stating, “We have been quiet since we acquired the Rambo license last August”. The UK publisher did however promise Rambo fans a Triple-A experience when released for consoles and PC, which is no more than the man deserves.

Although not many details have been released about gameplay or storyline, the game will have a “gritty atmosphere”, said Lewis, and will keep gamers in the action every step of the way. He continued, “During this time we have been dedicated to creating a video game for consoles and PC that will allow Rambo fans and gamers across the globe to really get under the skin of Rambo and wield his iconic weapon-set in battle.” I’m liking the sound of that!

Rambo: The Video Game will be officially revealed at Gamescom next moth in Cologne Germany and is set to launch on PlayStation 3, Xbox 360 and PC. Do you think Rambo can handle the big bad world of video games? Let us know in the comments below.

When not fighting crime, I dabble in the art of online journalism. Alright, maybe it's not as exciting as headbutting everyday felons like a modern Bruce Wayne, but I need something that doesn't involve bludgeoning something. Get my kicks playing on a fat 80gb PS3, really need an upgrade......and a shave.
