I’m always complaining about not having a convenient way to stow away those all important trinkets, constantly rumbling through pockets only to pull out the wrong thing over and over, it’s nothing short of traumatizing. If you were thinking of investing in the upcoming New Super Mario Bros. 2, you will not have to worry about storage, as the game will come with a collectible gold coin case if you pre-order from GAME or Gamestation.
New Super Mario Bros. 2 looks to change the way we collected coins in previous installments, with new items, Gold Block power-up, the Gold Ring collectible and Gold Mario changing the landscape and unfortunate enemies into shiny gold coins. The game will also feature a new high-score mode called ‘Coin Rush’, where you can share your high scores and challenge friends via StreetPass.
The collectible case is shaped like the iconic currency we are so used to seeing in the game, with Nintendo claiming it’s “a handy accessory if you’re always on the move”. The case can hold many small items, “including the New Super Mario Bros. 2 Nintendo 3DS Game Card itself”, said Nintendo in a statement. Just like with the gold-colored Zelda: Skyward Sword Wii Remote, a disclaimer read, “Please note that the New Super Mario Bros. 2 collectible gold coin case is gold-colored only and does not contain any real gold.” Anybody else kinda bummed out after reading that?
New Super Mario Bros. 2 will launch in European territories on August 17, 2012 and in North America on August 19th, 2012. Let us know your thoughts on the not real gold collectible gold coin case, in the comment section below.
