Nintendo “Cannot Promise” That Paid Online Is Out Of The Question

Although basic services will always be free, Nintendo can not promise that a paid option will never exist, said Nintendo President Satoru Iwata during the recent meeting with company shareholders.

Specifically, he said the following:

“We cannot promise that Nintendo will always provide you with online services free of charge no matter how deep the experiences are that it may provide,” but also said that “at least we are not thinking of asking our consumers to pay money to just casually get access to our ordinary online services.”

If we’re promised something with the level of competence that Nintendo Network is becoming, I would be down for something with the optional excellence of PlayStation Plus. What about you guys?
