It was rumored a few weeks back (which has since been confirmed) that a version of Terminal, the popular Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 multiplayer map, is to be released as free DLC for the latest game in the series’, Modern Warfare 3. Unfortunately, if you own a PS3 or PC then you will have to wait longer than your Xbox 360 playing buddies. Infinity Ward’s executive producer Mark Rubin confirmed this after consulting legal and he said “We have to maintain the 30 day difference,” which means a slightly longer wait for the map.
This 30-day difference he refers to is the result of a deal between Microsoft and Activision that sees all Call of Duty DLC hitting the Xbox 360 first which even includes free maps such as the Terminal. This has since been extended to include all of the Call of Duty: Black Ops 2 DLC. Rubin did say that “Terminal is coming soon” with the expected release date being announced next week and the map is free for all users, Elite premium and non-Elite.
I hate all this temporary console exclusivity that DLC now has and I imagine that it would be better if they just released it on all the consoles at the same time. What do you think?
