Upcoming first-person shooter 007 Legends, which was announced in April, looks to vault die-hard James Bond fans back into the slick shoes of the shaken, but not stirred maestro. The game will feature a storyline that ties together six missions inspired by classic Bond films, including upcoming film ‘SkyFall’, which will land as a free DLC after the films release. Moreover, developer Eurocom has announced that On Her Majesty’s Secret Service will join already revealed Moonraker as one of the six missions for the upcoming 007 Legends.
Happily I can report that 007 Legends will allow players to tinker with state-of-the-art spy gadgets. I mean really, it wouldn’t be a James Bond film without those witty remarks from Q. There will also be an arsenal of weapons and sleek vehicles to get friendly with while you jet off to exotic locations and utilize Bond’s quick wits, class and style to take down notorious villains and their brutal henchmen, while performing impressive stunts. Sounds like a blast!
For those who are a bit too young to remember the ‘On Her Majesty’s Secret Service’ film, it’s based in the Swiss Alps, where Bond gets up close and personal with some bad men trying to eradicate the world’s food supply. If that hasn’t jogged your memory check out this description of the film to get a better understanding:
It’s here, in a picturesque Alpine setting, that gamers encounter an avalanche of action. Blofeld is aware of Bond’s undercover ruse and kidnaps Tracy, luring Bond into a rescue mission involving a fast-paced downhill ski chase and a confrontation in a high-flying cable car, which also uncovers Blofeld’s master plan to release a deadly virus in five of the world’s largest cities.
007 Legends will be available for PlayStation 3, Xbox 360, and for download on PC on October 16. For those who live in European regions, you’ll have to wait until October 19. All in all, with the SkyFall film realeasing in theatres around the end of that month, you won’t have to wait long for your free DLC.
Activision has been very generous lately … huh!
