True Blood’s Camilla Luddington To Voice Lara Croft In Tomb Raider Reboot
If you watch HBO series True Blood, you shouldn’t have a problem naming the voice behind Lara Croft for the next installment in the Tomb Raider franchise. Crystal Dynamic and Square Enix have completed their international search for Lara Croft’s voice and have picked British actress, Camilla Luddington, who starred in the vampire drama True Blood and the made-for-TV film William & Kate.
The search to fill the boots of Lara Croft went to an international scale, with scouts searching across the United States and Europe, eventually ending up with Camilla Luddington taking on the famous role. The 29-year-old will also be wearing the ‘Christmas tree’ costume to perform the motion capture for the adventurer, which is always fun. According to the Official Tomb Raider Blog, Luddington will be present at July’s Comic-Con convention in San Diego to talk about her new role in the game, so make sure to hit that up to see what she has to say.
Darrell Gallagher, head-honcho at Crystal Dynamics noted how important the voice actor position is, he said, “This has been one of the most important jobs for us to get right. This Tomb Raider game is very different to any other and we are demanding far more from the voice acting than ever before as we take the franchise in a new direction.”
Crystal Dynamics Tomb Raider reboot will hit shops for the PS3, Xbox 360 and PC sometime in the spring of 2013. Let us know what your pick would have been to voice Lara Croft in the comment section below.
